Parkland, Florida Teacher's First Thoughts After Seeing School Shooter: "Why Are The Police

Stacey Lippel, a teacher at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, told ABC News during an interview that she thought the suspected school shooter, Nikolas Cruz, was a police officer at first.

After seeing the shooter spraying a barrage of gunfire down a hallway towards her classroom, she said, "Why [are] the police here?"

"This is strange, because he's in full metal garb... helmet, face mask, bulletproof armor... shooting this rifle that I've never seen before."
