On October 12th, Florida Sheriff's Deputy Michael DeMarco confronted his ex-girlfriend, Yuly Solano, outside a Boynton Beach condominium complex after patiently waiting in his patrol car.

In video footage released by Boynton Beach Police on Friday, DeMarco is seen climbing out of his car before approaching Solano. The two then walk together out of the frame.

When both reappear, Solano is seen backing away from DeMarco, holding her hand to her face while the deputy raises his gun and points it at her.

According to police documents cited by the Palm Beach Post, shortly before he opened fire, DeMarco said, “You treat me worse than a dog.”

After shooting Solano several times, he then shot himself in the chest and head.

When police arrived on the scene, they found DeMarco deceased, but Solano was still alive and screaming for help.

Per the New York Daily News, she was immediately rushed to the hospital where she remains in the intensive care unit.
