Independent journalist Jason Goodman visited the Clark County Coroner's Office on Wednesday to ask a few questions. He was met by a worker, who kept the office's entrance door barely cracked open and spoke in a hushed voice.
When confronted about whether the office is closed or not, the worker said, "We're still on lockdown just because of the shootings." Goodman then asked if there was anyone he could speak to and she responded, "I will give you a card with a number."
She later said the police, who were located in the "loft," could explain who he should contact for further information.
After coming back to the door with a business card, the worker said, "We're probably going to be on lockdown the rest of the week." Goodman asked, "Has that ever happened before?" The worker responded, "They've never had anything like this before."
Goodman proceeded to ask a few more questions but was stopped when the worker said, "I'm just not at liberty to speak with journalists." After, she again directed Goodman to speak with the police to see if there was a different number he should call for further information.
Before leaving, Goodman threw in another question asking, "Who determines the lockdown?" The worker responded, "I don't know. We've never had a situation like this. I can't answer any more questions."
Goodman later approached a nearby police officer. He asked if the officer knew when the lockdown was going to be lifted. The officer responded, "I don't."
