The illegal aliens taken into custody included 77 men and 7 women from 12 different countries. 64 of them were from Mexico.
19 suspects were arrested in King County, Washington alone. 13 were arrested in Washington County, Oregon, 7 in Multnomah County and 4 in Lane County. 3 people were also arrested in Clark County.
According to ICE, the suspects had convictions such as driving under the influence, assault, larceny, domestic violence, sexual assault, among other offenses.
In an ICE released statement, they reported, "The operation, conducted by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), targeted criminal aliens who pose a public safety threat and individuals who have violated our nation’s immigration laws, including those who re-entered the country after being deported and immigration fugitives ordered deported by federal immigration judges."
One of the men taken into custody, Francisco Rodriguez Dominguez, had pleaded guilty to a DUI last December.
“Since I’ve been on DACA [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals], I was told I was safe from this. I really never expected to be in this situation," Rodriguez told FOX 12, a local Portland news station.
